 Greenwich Wine + Food has announced the culinary talent that will be participating in The Big Easy at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Saturday, March 4, bringing the flavors and fun of New Orleans to life.  Beneficiaries include two national non-profit organizations with roots in Connecticut - The Jacques Pépin Foundation and Wholesome Wave. Premium sponsors include Wagoneer and Greenwich Hospital.

This completely new, dine-around evening event will invite guests to wander the New Orleans-style grand tasting event featuring signature Cajun and Creole dishes from area chefs from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Bourbon Street’s iconic drinks such as Hurricanes and Mudslides, as well as premium wine, beer and spirits, will be served throughout the entire evening.  Special ticket options will invite guests to begin their culinary travels thirty-minutes early at 6pm, a private pre-party, access to a second-floor bar and seating area, VIP parking and more.

 

Musical talent for the evening includes:

Headliner Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Dumpstaphunk + Cyril Neville (opening the evening’s musical line-up at 6:30pm).  Longtime supporter of Greenwich Wine + Food Gary Dell’Abate (“The Howard Stern Show”) and member of the organization’s board of advisors will serve as one of the evening’s emcees, alongside Suni Unger, founder and CEO of Unger Media, the parent company behind Greenwich Wine + Food and Serendipity magazine.

Tickets are now on sale and include food, unlimited drinks and all musical performances.  Prices range from $325 (VIP Floor Badge) to $450 (Diamond VIP Loge Badge).  A limited number of private booths are available via sponsorship opportunities.

It's coming up soon! The Sun Wine & Food Fest 2023 at Mohegan Sun! Fans of fine wine and food  can indulge their appetites for both during the 19th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest (SWFF) beginning Thursday, January 26th and lasting through Sunday, January 29th. Sun Wine & Food Fest is one of the largest and most popular wine festivals in the Northeast, treating guests to a vast selection of wines and no shortage of delicious food pairings. Across the four-day SWFF 2023 there are 14 total events, including the return of the Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around, and Vintage Cru. New events this year include the Pappy Van Winkle Tasting where guests can taste one of the most sought-after bourbons of Pappy Van Winkle with a special, infused Macanudo cigar inside the Clay Pipe Cigar Bar. The all-new event, Beam & Burgers, enters the mix this year as well, where Gotham Burger Social Club teams up with Beam Suntory Inc. serving mouthwatering burgers and top-shelf whiskey. Capping off the weekend will be Bloodys & Brunch with special guest Buddy Valastro.

Sun Wine & Food Fest kicks off on Thursday, January 26th with three incredible events. First up is the TAO Japanese Whisky Dinner at 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Guests can enjoy top-shelf Japanese Whisky paired with a succulent three-course meal at TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge.

At 8:00pm, Clay Pipe Cigar Bar will feature the Ferrand Cognac & Cigar Pairing where guests can enjoy an exclusive tasting of Pierre Ferrand paired with a Macanudo cigar, and a great time!

 Also taking place at 6:30pm inside Tuscany will be The Todd English Experience where Chef Todd will take on hosting duties for an evening that kicks off with a craft cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner. Live entertainment will be mixed in, and guests will also be able to mingle with Chef Todd.

Beam & Burgers presented by Beam Suntory, Inc.Get the weekend started early and warm your palate during the new Beam & Burgers party in the Earth Ballroom. Chef Chad Rosenthal, Chef Mike Puma and Gotham Burger Social Club are teaming up with Beam Suntory, Inc. to provide juicy variations of scrumptious burgers that pair perfectly with top-notch whiskeys. This event will feature live entertainment and a complimentary cigar.

Beam & Burgers presented by Beam Suntory, Inc. takes place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, January 27th. Tickets are $100 in advance of the event, or $125 on the day of the event.

Grand Tasting PreviewGuests can get a sneak peek of the Grand Tasting, one of Sun Wine & Food Fest's signature showcases. This preview is held at the Earth Expo Center, and guests can sample a variety of wine, beer, and spirits while pairing their favorites with delectable dishes from some of the region's top restaurants. The Grand Tasting Preview offers the opportunity to experience an exclusive preview of SWFF’s largest event while also getting an early peek at celebrity chefs showing off their skills.

On Friday, January 27th from 8:00pm to 10:00pm the Grand Tasting Preview will take place. Ticket prices are $100 in advance and $125 at the door. Tickets for designated drivers cost $40.

Grand TastingSun Wine & Food Fest’s main event features over 1,000 different types of wine, beer, and spirits for guests to sample inside the 125,000 square-foot Earth Expo Center! Foodies can also taste dishes from award-winning restaurants throughout the region and select bites from elite chefs. Two culinary stages will be set up for guests to take in a variety of celebrity chef demos from the likes of Michael Symon, Robert Irvine, Marc Murphy, Maneet Chauhan, Nyesha Arrington, Richard Blais, and more!

The Grand Tasting is Saturday, January 28th and has a VIP hour from 11:00am to Noon, with General Admission from Noon to 5:00pm. Tickets are $150 for regular admission and $160 on the day of the event. Designated driver tickets are available for $40.

Vintage Cru

Industry heavyweights Chefs Rocco DiSpirito and Christian Petroni will be on hand to host the Vintage Cru in the Earth Ballroom. Here, taste the "best-of-the-best" vintages from around the world and meet the winemakers and principles behind them. Wine is available for purchase with shipment directly to your home! Each guest in attendance will also receive a $50 iGourmet gift card at the conclusion of the event!

Vintage Cru is from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, January 28th. Public on-sale tickets are $150, or $165 on the day of the event.

Exclusive Pappy Van Winkle Tasting

Clay Pipe Cigar Bar, located in Casino of the Sky, joins the SWFF fun with an exclusive Pappy Van Winkle Tasting! Taste one of the most sought-after bourbons of Pappy Van Winkle, including a tasting of 10 Year, 12 Year, 15 Year, 20 Year, and 23 Year. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy an in-house Macanudo cigar that has been infused with Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year. Tickets to this event are in limited quantity so be sure to reserve your seat today!

Exclusive Pappy Van Winkle Tasting is from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Saturday, January 28th. Tickets can also be purchased during the public on-sale at $500, or $525 the day of the event.

Celebrity Chef Dine Around

The Celebrity Chef Dine Around is where SWFF fans will see some of the most talented chefs at work during Mohegan Sun's trademark walk-around event in the Uncas Ballroom. Over 20 famous chefs including Esther Choi, Amanda Freitag, Chris Santos, and Michael Symon will each personally serve a distinctive meal paired with a wine, beer, or spirit. DJ Irie will set the vibe for what is one of the most thrilling events at Sun Wine & Food Fest every year.

Celebrity Chef Dine Around is from 8:00pm to 10:30pm on Saturday, January 28th. Tickets can also be purchased during the public on-sale at $250, or $275 the day of the event.

Bloodys & Brunch With Buddy

Join Buddy Valastro inside Mohegan Sun’s luxury lounge novelle for the Bloodys & Brunch event to finish off Sun Wine & Food Fest 2023 in style! Guests can book their tickets now for $90 or for $100 the day of the event. The famous Buddy Valastro will serve up sweet and savory options while guests sip on premium, crafted Bloody Marys.
