New London Main Street Presents Annual Spring Food Stroll

 
DOWNTOWN NEW LONDON'S ANNUAL SPRING FOOD STROLL
Wednesday, May 13, 2015, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Streets of downtown filled with strollers celebrating New London's best food with music.

WHO: New London Main Street with support from Presenting Sponsor Dime Bank, City of New London, The Day, Legrand and Garde Arts Center. Premiere local talent will perform along the stroll route.
WHAT: New London Main Street continues its most popular tradition of celebrating New London's Historic Waterfront District at its Annual Spring Food Stroll on Wednesday, May 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. www.newlondonmainstreet.org. Participants experience vibrant downtown New London filled with people, music, good cheer and welcoming businesses.

Using an advanced purchased button as your ticket to taste, stroll through dozens of different restaurants, shops and arts and cultural institutions in downtown New London, tasting bite-size samples of dishes or drinks that range from seafood to sweets, organic to ethnic and everything in between. Participating venues are expected to include:

TASTING COMPETITION: Food served will be judged in a lighthearted competition, and judges include Timothy Grills, Director of Nutrition Services, TVCCA; Jill Blanchette, Production Editor, The Day; Joan Gordon, Restaurant Reviewer, the Norwich Bulletin, and Peter Lehmuller, Ed.D. Dean, College of Culinary Arts
Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence, Johnson & Wales.
 
By analyzing taste, texture and appearance, judges will determine 
Most Creative, 
Best Dessert, 
Best Seafood taste, 
Best Vegetarian taste, 
Best All Around Taste 
Fan Favorite (decided by votes on Instagram).
 
ENTERTAINMENT: Christian Brunelle, Heartstrings Duo, CBYD, The ISAAC School "8th Notes," Noah Feldman, Jerome King, Tim Larson, Ron Lynch, Teresa McShane, Philip Oesau, Roxy 100.1 FM, Q105, Tim Quinn, WCNI and many more talented musicians. 

WHERE: On the day of the event the Stroll's headquarters are at Harris Place, 165 State Street, New London from 10:00 a.m. A map containing stroll and entertainment locations will be available there and at www.newlondonmainstreet.org.

TICKETS: are $30 in advance ($25 for military, students and groups) in advance and $35 on the day or (if available) and are on sale now at the following locations:

    **Tickets purchased online can be picked up on the day of the stroll from 10:00 a.m. at Harris Place, 165 State Street, New London.

Tickets are available on the day of beginning at 10:00 a.m. until they sell out at Harris Place, 165 State Street or at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State Street.

Winners of the tasting contest will be announced at 9:00 p.m. at Harris Place, 165 State Street, and judges will travel to each winning venue to announce their award immediately following the announcement.

New London Main Street is committed to the ongoing revitalization of New London's Historic Waterfront District. The goal of Main Street is to build community through activities and programs that enrich the cultural fabric, preserve and enhance historic streetscapes and support and expand the economic base of the city center.
