Whenever I go to a food festival in New Haven or Fairfield county, there's one restaurant's tasting table that I always look for! Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwestern Grill!
Without fail they are mixing up some delicious home-style guacamole in a ginourmous stone bowl - or serving up some of their delicious and unique chiles. And, yes, I always sneak back in line for seconds!

Now, with Super Bowl LI less than a month away, Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwestern Grill is making it easy for you to serve up some of their amazing guacamole and award winning chili in party-sized to-go packaging!

It's no surprise that Super Bowl Sunday has turned into a big food “holiday” … and whether it’s watching the big game with your immediate family or hosting a party with friends - OR BOTH, it’s hard to find the time to cook up a batch of low-and-slow chile, appetizers and more, and still enjoy yourself!
That's why I think it's genius that Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill (http://geronimobarandgrill.com/) in both Fairfield and New Haven is making it as easy as possible this year to both entertain and enjoy the game by offering fresh chips, quacamole, and their delicious chile "to go" !
Here's what's available from Geronimo To-Go
- Chips and Guacamole, prepared to-order (extra spicy available), is offered in a quart container for $25, and a pint size for $15.
- Geronimo’s Hatch Green Stew, two-time winner of the local Great Mac & Chili Challenge, features fire roasted Hatch chile’s simmered with onion, tender pork and posole. A container serving 8-10 people is $60.
- Buffalo Chile. Looking for something a bit more unique? Their Buffalo Chile features slow braised bison (direct from South Dakota), Sierra Nevada pale ale, black beans and red and green Hatch chiles grown in New Mexico. A container serving 8-10 people is available for $80.
- Vegetable Chile. Vegetarian in the group? The Vegetable Chile includes corn, garbanzo, carrot, red kidney bean and onions in a rich tomato-chile sauce. At $50, the container serves 8-10.
Please note that 48-hour notice is required for all orders, and can be picked up the day of the event at either the Fairfield or New Haven location.
