MoheganSun’s 8th Annual Sun BrewFest Returns

Hey There! Mohegan Sun is calling all beer lovers! 

That's right! Mohegan Sun’s Sun BrewFest is back with a two-day event featuring some of the best beer, food, and live entertainment in New England. Tickets are on sale now via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the Channel 3 Kids Camp. All guests must be 21 or older to attend all events. Valid ID and tickets are required upon entry to all events.

A Taste of New England

At a Taste of New England on Friday, October 4th, guests can sample and sip their way through the Earth Ballroom with some of New England’s best local drafts, restaurant offerings, and live entertainment from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. 

Tickets for A Taste of New England are $50.00 and one ticket is valid for admission and all food and beverages. 

Sun BrewFest

Saturday, October 5th is the main event. The Earth Expo and Convention Center will be transformed into a brew lover’s paradise where guests can try over 150 beers, including craft brews, microbrews, imports, domestics and ciders, allwhile enjoying rockin’ live entertainment, fun games, an epic cornhole tournament and delicious signature food from local restaurants. VIP Hour is from 3:00pm – 4:00pm and general admission starts at 4:00pm. For a full list of beer, food, and exhibitors, visit sunbrewfest.com.

Tickets for Sun Brewfest are $50.00 for the VIP hour and GrandTasting, and $30.00 for the Grand Tasting only. All food items must be paid for with Mohegan Sun food tickets (worth $1.00 each) that can be purchased at any cashier.

Cornhole Tournament

Teams of two can let the beanbags fly at the cornhole tournament held during Sun BrewFest. First prize winners receive two $100.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards, and second place winners receive two $50.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards. Guests can register in advance by contacting Andre Park at apark@mohegansun.com.The registration fee is $100.00 and also includes entry for two into the Sun BrewFest VIP tasting.

The Fourth Annual Sun BrewFest returns to Mohegan Sun on Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th featuring with a variety of finely crafted brews including Yuengling, Two Roads, Wachusett Brewing and more!

Treat yourself to a weekend of trivia, cornhole and beer tasting capped off by the exceptional Sunday BrewBrunch.

Beer Trivia Night at SunBrewFest 2015

The Sun BrewFest fun begins on Friday night during a special beer themed trivia night inside the Uncas Ballroom. Gather your friends and tap into your brew knowledge for just $20.00 per person. Tickets are available through Mohegan Sun Box Office or at the door and include entry plus one free beer. A cash bar will also be open throughout the night! 

Saturday Tasting Sessions at SunBrewFest 2015

Introduce your tastebuds to  200 of the best beers around during one of the two tasting sessions on Saturday, October 3rd. Explore a wide variety of breweries pouring out 2 ounce samples of their favorite beers for guests to enjoy in souvenir, mini pilsner glasses. Try and find your favorite as you taste your way through Craft Beers, Microbrews, Imports, Domestics and ciders. The DC Project Band keeps the entertainment going all day long inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom. 

Tickets to the tasting sessions are $25.00 each. The first session runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and the second session runs from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

BrewBrunch at SunBrewFest 2015

The fun continues to flow on Sunday during a new and improved BrewBrunch sponsored by Goose Island and Absolut from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The BrewBrunch, inside Todd English’s Tuscany, features an array of delicious brunch items, some with a BrewFest twist! Sip on champagne, toast with Goose Island or create your very own signature Bloody Mary at the Absolut Blood Mary bar to round out your brew-filled weekend.
Tickets to the BrewBrunch are $42.00 each and include all food and one sponsored drink(a beer, bloody mary or glass of champagne). Reservations for BrewBrunch are to be made through Todd English’s Tuscany.

Sun BrewFest returns to Mohegan Sun on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th with a variety of finely crafted brews certain to please any palate. Be sure to treat yourself to a weekend of beer tasting capped off by an exclusive Sunday BrewBrunch.

Saturday Tasting Sessions
Tap into up to 200 of the best beers around during one of the two tasting sessions on Saturday, October 4th. Explore a wide variety of breweries pouring out 2 ounce samples of their favorite beers for guests to enjoy in souvenir, mini pilsner glasses. Try and find your favorite as you taste your way through Craft Beers, Microbrews, Imports, Domestics and ciders. Mohegan Sun really is a "world at play" - there's always something special happening!

The Sun Brew Fest aka #SunBrewFest is just one of the great events they have!

Held in Mohegan Sun's Conference Center / Uncas Ballroom, this venue is the perfect place to host a variety of both local and national brewers.


The event is held October 4th through October 6th in 2013.

This year over 100 of the best brews around  were available for sampling. And what's more, Mohegan Sun even added a complimentary souvenir mini-pilsner glass. Perfect for a sampling size! 

We were offered early media entry and got to talk with some of the local breweries, in fact, the first beer we sampled was one brewed in my own hometown of Branford CT! Thimble Island Breweries!

Their Coffee Stout was one of my favorite samples of the night. It was rich and hearty and the coffee flavor was really a great addition. Come to find out, the coffee is from another local CT company, Willoughby's Coffee! 

Another favorite was from East Hartford CT, Old Burnside Brewing Company. 

I sampled the Dirty Penny Ale, mostly because I was intrigued by the name. And when I asked about how it was made I learned it was a unique Black & Tan, that is blended California style stout. Roasty, with hints of chocolate and coffee. Well, of course I loved it. Who wouldn't love beer with chocolate and coffee!  And I also had a connection to this beer as well, as it's a salute to my Scottish heritage! 

Me and beer - who'd have thought - I tell you,  it's Karma!

There were even some live home brewing demos,  foosball, ping-pong and air hockey tables and games, and of course, loads of beer for sampling.

And some of  Mohegan Sun's world-class restaurants were  available - right there in the conference center selling some of their great offerings.

The Cowboy ordered Frank Pepe's Pizza and I had a Crab Slider from Jaspar White's Summer Shack. The cowboy was elated there was no wait for the pizza, and my slider was pretty good! The sauce was incredible and I asked for a dollop more on the side to use to dip my chips in. YUMMMM!

And at 8pm the party really got started when the band Sugar started up! They're a great 80's cover band and even the Cowboy was tapping his foot to some of Michael Jackson's classics. Well, no he wasn't. But I certainly was!

We also stopped to get photographed paparazzi style at the photo booth. And I even got to visit with my buddy, Jonathan Goldsmith, the Dos Equis man. You probably know him as the most interesting man in the world. Woman love him, men idolize him, and children want to be him when they grow up.
