Reopening just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, Foxwoods has announced a lineup of fantastic feature films that will hit the big screen this summer.  From Marvel-ous superheroes to thrills and chills to laughs for the whole family, there’s a little something for every type of movie buff at the Foxwood Drive-In.

It's only fitting that they selected Foxwoods Resort Casino to host the premiere showing of their latest creation Cirque Eloize Hotel running August 22 through September 2nd!

Together with my sister Sue and BFF Gayle, we headed up to Mashantucket CT for a 'girls night' out to catch the latest Cirque show at Foxwood's Fox Theater. We decided to make an evening of it, enjoying dinner and some shopping before the show. Foxwoods is also home to Tanger Outlets, so there's plenty of back to school shopping this 'tax free' week. There are ALWAYS great sales to be found at the outlets! I think the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods just loves giving discounts! We got so many great deals!

After wearing out our wallets getting some great shopping in, we headed to The Sugar Factory for a bite to eat before the show. The Sugar Factory is known for all day / all night breakfast as well as great sandwich and dinner items on their FUN menu, delicious cocktails, and decadent milkshakes.

After delicious dinner of red velvet pancakes, the 'garbage' salad, and a chicken ceasar crepe, we headed over to the theater with plenty of time to spare to see the show. 

Hotel is the story of a bustling hotel and the travelers who come passing through it. The show features an avant-garde stage design, inspired by the the art-deco-esque elegance of the great hotels. Here we see how travelers and staff intersect, collide and juxtapose for a brief time to generate tales and memories. We observe the complicated relationships and group camaraderie of hotel employees. We're allowed to peek into guest quarters as travelers prepare for their days, or experience sleepless and restless nights. Acrobatics, theater, dance and live music, will draw spectators into a colorful, timeless world.

The show was fabulous! I can't believe the amazing performances and the acrobatic talents. Best of all, the show is family friendly!

After the show we visited the newly opened Stony Creek Brewery at Foxwoods for a final cocktail before heading back home after a fun night out! Although known for their great craft beers, they also offer cocktail and bar bites at the Foxwoods location.

After a fun night out with my favorite girls, we headed back home with warm thoughts and memories of delicious food, amazing choreography, and sweet cocktails.

Internationally Beloved Budweiser Horses to Make Southeastern Connecticut Debut

Join the fun at Foxwoods® Resort Casino, the premier resort destination in the Northeast, where the iconic Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales, in conjunction with Levine Distributing Company, are scheduled to make their public Southeastern Connecticut appearance. 

That's right! The Budweiser Clydesdales will make their debut at the resort’s Grand Pequot Tower at 5:00pm on March 22nd, 2018. 

The one-of-a-kind experience will feature eight magnificent Clydesdale horses participating in a parade across property so Foxwoods guests can experience their grandeur like never before.

The Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, will first appear outside of the Grand Pequot Tower at 5 p.m. to be unloaded, harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon for the parade. 

An Anheuser-Busch Ambassador will be onsite to share the upkeep and hitching process that goes into caring for this special breed of horses in detail. Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Chairman Rodney Butler and Foxwoods Resort Casino President and CEO Felix Rappaport will receive honorary horseshoes commemorating the rare visit.

“We are honored to host the legendary Budweiser Clydesdales at Foxwoods Resort Casino for their area debut, continuing our mission to offer unique experiences that reach beyond our guests’ expectations and imaginations,” said Monique Sebastian, Vice President of Entertainment and Entertainment Marketing at Foxwoods Resort Casino. “These beautiful horses are timeless symbols of American culture and beloved across the globe and this special event promises to be something Foxwoods’ guests will never forget.”

The Clydesdales’ appearance at Foxwoods is one of hundreds made annually by the traveling hitches, which were first brought to America in the mid-1800s. Horses chosen for the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch must be at least three years of age, stand approximately six feet at the shoulder, weigh an average of 2,000 pounds and have very specific color characteristics. The “Gentle Giants” each consume as much as 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay and 30 gallons of water per day.

This event is free and open to the public. The most convenient parking available for this event is the Grand Pequot Self-Park Garage located off Grand Pequot Boulevard.

That's right! One of the most family-friendly events of the year returns to Foxwoods Resort Casino during the holiday winter school break with plenty of fun activities all week!

By popular demand, Foxwoods® Resort Casino, the Northeast’s premier resort destination, will once again host Kids Week from Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 29. 

Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Kids Week will offer a wide range of fun activities during the winter break for children of all ages, including free blockbuster movies, a visit from the penguins from The Mystic Aquarium, face painting, Tree House Arcade specials, hands-on cookie decorating demonstrations with the CAKE by Franck pastry team and much more! 

Movies at Foxwoods

Enjoy free movie screenings of blockbusters including Despicable Me 3, Cars 3 and Wonder Woman Tuesday - Thursday in the Grand Theater. The first movie will start at 12:30 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. each day.  The concession stand will be open to purchase movie favorites such as popcorn, candy and beverages. 

Penguin Encounter at Foxwoods

Waddle on over to Foxwoods on Thursday, December 28 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and get up close and personal with the penguins from Mystic Aquarium. Your holidays will surely be brighter when you meet their happy feet! 

Kiddie Game Lounge at Foxwoods

The Kiddie Game Lounge will be located in the Premier Pre-function area of Fox Tower, and will feature popular video games and board games like Checkers, Connect 4, Chutes & Ladders and many more.  

Tree House Arcade Specials at Foxwoods

Tree House Arcade is offering specials on kid-friendly gaming throughout the week.  Kids can enjoy the many Tree House games fun with $22 in tokens plus 100 tickets for just $20, or $40 in tokens with 500 tickets for $35.   

Face Painting, Whimsical Parties & Book Reading at Foxwoods

From Spider Man to a fierce tiger, kids can use their imagination with custom face painting, Whimsical Parties and book reading stations will also be located in the Premier Pre-function area from 12 p.m. to  5 p.m.  All of these fun-filled activities will be available every day. 

Cookie Decorating with CAKE by Franck at Foxwoods

Create works of art at cookie decorating demonstrations with the CAKE by Franck pastry team.  Every day during Kids Week, kids can learn a cool and entertaining skill that will last a lifetime.  Cookies, icing, hats & aprons will be provided free of charge for this hands-on activity.  Bring your camera for this can’t-miss photo opportunity.
